I have been going to Alejandro Bakery for quite sometime for Mexican sweet bread, barbacoa, carnitas and menudo. All of these things are delicious. The mexican sweet bread has the same taste as the bread from a bakery in Linares Nuevo Leon. The clerks are courteous and helpful. It's great that we have a place like this down south 23rd street and close by to where I live. Next time I will try out their pizza. The place has a drive thru for the people that do not want to get off their automobile.

This bread is delicious. It does not get better than this when it comes to Mexican sweet bread. They have all the Mexican staples and more. Their interpretation of the croissant is addicting. It is slightly sweeter than most croissants out there and much more dense but what it lacks in authenticity is made up by how frickin' good it is. Their croissants hold up a sandwich much better than your regular croissant. Not so much a fan of the pizza but it passes. Sooo good! And so close to my parents' house!

Alejandro's is open early and closes late ...and their pastries are always fresh (with many varieties to suit all tastes leaning towards the Mexican of course). The pizza (pepperoni) was fresh and with a crisp crust. The staff is pleasant and helpful. The flan was also amazing. Texture was perfect! One of the best I've had. If you're in McAllen hankering for Mexican pastries, flan or pizza on the go, stop at Alejandro's!
